20. Canadian Geese by Sylvia Shaw Judson was presented as a gift to the Lake Bluff Library in 1975 by members of the Lake Bluff Garden Club in memory of past members who had passed away. The gift also celebrated the opening of the Library’s new facilities on Scranton Avenue. In the book For Gardens and Other Places, Judson writes, “In museums I often feel a timelessness in the smaller, more intimate sculptures of ordinary, nearby things, which is lacking in the grander works. Animals provide a happy middle ground for the sculptor, somewhere between the subjective and the objective, the figurative and the abstract.”
